It is a secondary school and has a very unique place among the other secondary schools in Turkey. Because ,the students are the most successful ones who are chosen by a central level assessment exam called "SBS", and every year the best 96 students are registered mostly from Diyarbakir and neighbor cities. Our institution also offers optional boarding facility for all the students but only 150 prefers mainly the ones coming from other cities. There are 380 students and they have different socio economic backgrounds. Majority of boarding students are from socio economically disadvantaged families.
It is not located in the city centre but it takes place in Süleyman Demirel Education Campus where there are 8 different types of schools including Fine Arts Secondary School, SEN, Vocational Secondary and Primary Schools. The transportation is not difficult with different alternatives such as public transports and school bus service. Considering its location in a campus, it has great potential to disseminate the project results to the neighboring schools and contribute the valorisation of the project. Students' major subjects are science and maths, and they have intensive language lessons. They show great success at university entrance exam, usually for engineering and medicine faculties. So they are highly motivated on the university entrance exam and science lessons. Our science laboratories are well equipped and we would like to support our students and improve them in a technologically improved environment with experienced staff. Considering the social context of our school this project will play an important role for a more enjoyable and effective education in terms of both students and teachers. We believe that the project will improve the quality of our lessons and will enable our students and teachers involve more in technology and improve their ICT skills as well. Our school will write a goodwill letter to Diyarbakır PDN explaining that we will take place at the Project. We will choose the teachers who are going to take place at the Project and we will assign them. We will determine the classes that will take place in the Project and we will design the curriculum for these classes. We will do the jobs that we will be assigned by Diyarbakır PDN during the visits of our foreign partner . We will choose the teachers who are expected to visit our foreign partner in order to take place at the workshops. We will search “Modern Approaches in Teaching Foreign languages” all over Europe and write reports on this issue. We will apply the surveys and questionnaires that will be prepared during the project to the teachers and students in our school.
