Jelgava
4th Primary School is a big town school in an urban area. Our pupils are
inquisitive, active and interested in many things. Although many parents are
unemployed or their income is very low, their children want to acquire new
knowledge, travel, exchange experience and broaden their horizons. We have 7
children from the orphanage, 66 children from the risk families, 22 Roma
children. There is also a special Roma teacher at our school to help them to
fit in well in our school life and learning process. Participation in the
project would help our pupils to practise their language skills, make new
friends, learn basic life skills and competences necessary for the personal
development and qualitative future life and employment in the EU as well as get
to know the diversity of the European languages and culture values. It would
help the pupils to develop their creativity, initiative and potential in the
fast changing environment. The project would let our teachers to exchange
experience and improve the quality of teaching. Jelgava 4th Primary School will participate in all levels of the project: meetings, share examples of best practices, communicate with Regio 1 school/s, take part in all teaching sessions and run the training sessions, contribute to the reports and presentations. The school will be in cooperation and constant communication with the regional partners and in particular Regio 1 schools.
